Glossary

The words you will meet in Homla, in plain English.

Homla connection
The single link between your AI app and Homla. You add it once. Through it, your AI gets your tools, skills and memory. The app labels its address Connector URL.
MCP
Model Context Protocol. The open standard AI apps use to talk to outside tools. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and others support it. The Homla connection is an MCP server. Your AI app may call it an "MCP server", a "connector" or a "custom connector".
Connector URL
The web address you paste into your AI app: https://app.homla.ai/mcp, or your workspace address.
Connector
A tool connected to Homla, like Shopify or Slack. See All tools.
Your own connector
A tool an admin added by its MCP address. See Your own connectors.
Account
One sign-in or key for a tool. A tool can have several accounts. An account is private to its owner until shared.
Action
One thing your AI can do with a tool, like "search issues" or "create a draft". In the CLI and API it has a name like linear_issues_list.
Read and write
A read action looks things up and changes nothing. A write action creates, sends or changes something.
Dry run
What every write does first: it reports what it would do and sends nothing. It runs for real only when confirmed.
Skill
A saved playbook for one job, shared with the team. See Skills.
Pack
A ready-made bundle of skills you can copy into your workspace.
Company memory
What your team knows, saved by your AI and searchable by every AI. See Memory.
Company rule
A rule every AI on the team follows. Hard rules are attached to every session. Also called a policy.
Workspace
Your company in Homla. It has its own people, tools, skills and memory.
Role
A set of permissions: which tools and actions, agent access, and which accounts. Every person has one.
Admin
A person who manages the workspace: people, roles, billing and shared accounts.
Guest
A person or team from another Homla workspace with access you chose. See Guests.
Two-step sign-in
A code from an authenticator app, asked after your email link or password. Shown as two-factor authentication in Settings.
API key
A secret that lets a script call Homla without a person signing in. See API keys.
Agent
A helper that runs in the background with its own tools, skills and triggers. See Agents.
Approval
A person saying yes to an agent's write action before it runs.
Trigger
What starts an agent: a schedule, an email, a webhook, Slack, GitHub, or Run now.
Runner
A computer that runs agents: a teammate's computer, or a cloud box.
Cloud box
An always-on server for your agents, paid per month.
Homla CLI
The command-line tool. The command is wedge. See Homla CLI.
Wedge
Homla's former name. It still appears in the CLI command, some addresses (wedgeai.work) and action names (wedge_).
