Connecting tools

Connect a tool once in Homla. Then your AI can use it, within the access your role allows.

Homla calls the apps you connect connectors. You find them under Connectors in the sidebar. See every tool and what it can do.

Connect a tool#

Open Connectors, pick a tool, and connect your first account. There are two kinds.

Tools you sign in to#

  1. Open the toolThe card Connect your first account lists what Homla will be able to do.
  2. Choose read or writeFor Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console, you connect read only. Tick Also allow writing only if your AI should change things.
  3. Sign inPress Sign in with Google, Connect Microsoft account or Connect <tool>. Approve on the tool's own page. Homla never sees your password.

Tools that use a key#

  1. Open the setup guidePress Setup guide. It shows where to create the key in the tool, step by step.
  2. Add the accountPress Connect an account. Give it a Name, like "EU store", then paste the key. It is Stored encrypted, never shown again.
  3. SavePress Add account.

Homla does not test a key when you save it. If it is wrong, the account shows Key no longer works on first use. Press Update credentials and paste a new one.

Your accounts are private until you share them#

An account you connect belongs to you. Only you can use it until you share it.

To share, open the account menu and choose Share:

  • Share with a role, or the whole company.
  • Read-only is ticked by default. Nothing is sent or changed.
  • Optionally, limit the share to some actions only.

People use the shared account without ever seeing its password or key. What they do runs as the account's owner, so share read only unless writing is needed.

Only the owner can share an account. An admin can revoke any share.

Several accounts per tool#

You can connect several accounts of the same tool, like two Shopify stores. When more than one fits, your AI asks which one to use. Every tool also has an <tool>_accounts_list action, so your AI can see the choices.

Manage an account#

The account menu has Rename, Reconnect, Share, Allow writing or Back to read only, and Disconnect. Disconnecting removes access at once for everyone it was shared with.

If a sign-in expires, the account shows Reconnect needed. Press Reconnect.

Who can connect what#

By default, anyone can connect their own accounts. An admin can turn this off, or limit it to some tools, per role. A person who is blocked sees Connecting your own accounts is turned off for your role.

Which actions each person's AI gets is set by their role. See Access and roles.

Missing a tool?#

Admins can add any tool that has an MCP address. See Your own connectors. Or email [email protected] and ask us to add it.
