Connect it#

In Homla, open Connectors, then Figma Comments. The Setup guide button walks you through the same steps, with fields to paste into.

Who can do it. Each person creates their own Figma personal access token and adds it for themselves. Any Figma user can create one. Every comment Homla posts carries the name of the person whose token it is, so Homla does not accept a company-wide token for this connector.

  1. Open the Security tab of your Figma settingsSigned in to the Figma account whose name the comments should carry. In Figma: account menu, top left > Settings > Security tab, section Personal access tokens. Open it.
  2. Generate a token with only the scopes Homla needsClick Generate new token. Name it Homla. Choose an expiry (you will paste a new token when it ends). Under scopes, set Comments: Read and write and File content: Read only, and leave everything else at No access. Open it.

For read-only use, give Comments read only: figma_comments_write will then return Figma's permission error. Without File content: Read, filtering by frame only matches comments pinned to that exact frame.

  3. Copy the token right awayPress Enter to create it, then copy the token. It starts with figd_.

Figma shows the token only once. If you leave the page before copying it, delete it and generate a new one.

  4. Paste it into HomlaIn Homla, open Connectors, then Figma Comments, then add your account. Paste the token into Personal access token (figd_…) and save. Homla encrypts it and never shows it again. It is stored for you only, not for the whole company. Open it.

Paste the token only into Homla, never into a chat or an email.

What your AI can do#

These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.

Read#

Looks things up, never changes anything.

ActionWhat it does
figma_comments_listList comments on a Figma file as compact rows with reactions and a deep link each.

Write#

Creates or changes things, as the account owner.

ActionWhat it does
figma_comments_write DeletesPost, reply to, delete or react to a Figma comment.

Disconnect it#

In Homla, open the account menu on the tool's page and choose Disconnect. Anyone it was shared with loses access at once. To cut it off on the tool's side too:

To cut Homla off at once, open Figma Settings > Security, select the Homla token and click Revoke access. To rotate, generate a new token the same way and paste it into the same Homla form. When the token expires, Homla answers with an invalid-token error until you paste a new one.
