Connect it#
In Homla, open Connectors, then Google Analytics. The Setup guide button walks you through the same steps, with fields to paste into.
Who can do it. Each person connects their own Google account; Homla then sees exactly the GA4 properties that account can open. Viewer on a property is enough for the read tools. The write tools (custom dimensions, key events, event create rules) need Editor on that property.
- Check your role on the propertyIn Google Analytics, open Admin > Property access management for the property. Viewer is enough to read reports. Editor is needed if Homla should create custom dimensions, key events or event rules. If you are missing a role, ask an Administrator of the property. Open it.
- Connect Google in HomlaIn Homla, open Connectors > Google Analytics and click Connect Google account. Tick Also allow editing first only if you need the write tools: without it, Homla asks for read access only. Open it.
- Pick the right account and acceptGoogle asks which account to use: pick the one that has access to the properties. The consent screen lists See and download your Google Analytics data (read tools), and with editing ticked Edit Google Analytics management entities (write tools). Accept both lines.
- Check it worksBack in Homla, the account shows as connected on the card. Ask your assistant "which GA4 properties can you see?": it runs get_account_summaries and lists them. A property missing from the list means this Google account has no role on it.
- If something failsanalytics_edit_scope_missing: you connected without editing; reconnect with Also allow editing ticked. 403 permission denied on a write: your role on that property is Viewer, ask for Editor. Wrong account: an empty property list usually means you consented with another Google account; revoke it and connect the right one. google_auth_expired / not_connected / reconnect_needed: the Google access was revoked or expired; click Connect again.
What your AI can do#
These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.
Read#
Looks things up, never changes anything.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
google-analytics_get_account_summaries | The GA4 accounts and properties this user can access. |
google-analytics_get_property_details | Metadata for one GA4 property (displayName, timeZone, currencyCode, industryCategory, ...). |
google-analytics_list_google_ads_links | The Google Ads links on a GA4 property. |
google-analytics_get_custom_dimensions_and_metrics | A GA4 property's custom dimensions and metrics, merged. |

google-analytics_run_report | Run a GA4 core report. |
google-analytics_run_realtime_report | Run a GA4 realtime report (roughly the last 30 minutes). |
Write#
Creates or changes things, as the account owner.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
google-analytics_create_custom_dimension | Create a custom dimension on a GA4 property. |
google-analytics_create_key_event | Mark an event as a key event (conversion) on a GA4 property. |
google-analytics_create_event_create_rule | Create a custom event on a GA4 data stream: events matching event_conditions produce a new event named destination_event. |
google-analytics_request | Any Google Analytics API call, for what the typed tools don't cover. |
Disconnect it#
In Homla, open the account menu on the tool's page and choose Disconnect. Anyone it was shared with loses access at once. To cut it off on the tool's side too:
To cut Homla off, open your Google account's Third-party apps & services page, pick Homla, then Delete all connections. To go back to read-only, revoke there and reconnect in Homla without ticking Also allow editing. Removing the person's access in the product itself also stops Homla at once.
