Connect it#

In Homla, open Connectors, then PennyLane. The Setup guide button walks you through the same steps, with fields to paste into.

Who can do it. A Pennylane user with the Executive, Internal Accountant or External Accountant role, on the Essential plan or higher. Other roles and the Starter plan do not see the Developers tab.

  1. Open the Developers tab of your Pennylane settingsSign in to the company Homla should read, then in the Management section open Settings > Connectivity > Developers. Pennylane puts your company id in that page's address, so the link below opens the sign-in page and you click through from there. Open it.

No Developers tab? Your role cannot manage tokens, or the company is on the Starter plan. Ask an Executive or the accountant, or upgrade to Essential.

  2. Generate a token named Homla with only the scopes you needClick Generate an API Token, name it Homla, then under API V2 pick the permissions listed below. Read-only access is enough for every Homla tool except creating invoices: give Read and write on customer invoices only if Homla should create them. Leave everything else off; Homla's request tool then gets Pennylane's 403 on anything you did not grant.
  3. Choose an expiration datePennylane offers 1 month, 6 months, 12 months or Unlimited. 12 months is a good default: put a reminder to rotate it. When it expires, Homla's Pennylane tools answer with an authentication error until a new token is pasted.
  4. Generate and copy the tokenClick Generate Token, then copy the token that appears and confirm you saved it with Continue.

Pennylane shows the token only once and does not store it. Paste it straight into Homla (next step), not into a chat or an email. Lost it? Delete it and generate a new one.

  5. Paste it in HomlaIn Homla, open Connectors > PennyLane > Connect, paste the token into PennyLane API token, then Save. One token covers one company. Open it.

What your AI can do#

These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.

Read#

Looks things up, never changes anything.

ActionWhat it does
pennylane_invoices_listList customer invoices from PennyLane.
pennylane_invoice_getFetch a single customer invoice by its PennyLane ID.
pennylane_customers_listList customers from PennyLane.
pennylane_suppliers_listList suppliers from PennyLane.
pennylane_supplier_invoices_listList supplier (purchase) invoices from PennyLane.

Write#

Creates or changes things, as the account owner.

ActionWhat it does
pennylane_invoice_createCreate a customer invoice.
pennylane_requestMake an arbitrary authenticated request to the PennyLane External API v2, for endpoints the dedicated tools do not cover.

Disconnect it#

In Homla, open the account menu on the tool's page and choose Disconnect. Anyone it was shared with loses access at once. To cut it off on the tool's side too:

To cut Homla off at once, open Settings > Connectivity > Developers and click Delete next to the Homla token: it stops working immediately. To rotate, generate a new token with the same permissions, paste it into the same Homla form, then delete the old one.
