Connect it#
In Homla, open Connectors, then Shopify. The Setup guide button walks you through the same steps, with fields to paste into.
Who can do it. The store owner, or a staff member with the App development > Develop permission.
- Open Develop apps in your Shopify adminClick Build apps in Dev Dashboard. Since 1 January 2026 Shopify no longer lets you create new custom apps in the admin itself: new apps live in the Dev Dashboard.
- Create an app called HomlaIn the Dev Dashboard, click Create app. Under Start from Dev Dashboard, name it Homla and click Create. Open it.
- Pick the access scopes, then releasePaste the scopes below into Scopes under Access, then click Release. Read-only store? Leave write_themes off.
- Install the app on your storeOn the app's overview, click Install app in the Installs card, pick your store, and click Install. The app and the store must belong to the same Shopify organization, or Shopify will refuse to issue a token.
- Copy the Client ID and Client secretOpen Settings in the app's left menu. Copy the Client ID and the Client secret. Homla swaps them for a fresh Admin API token every 24 hours, so you never paste a token again.
The Client secret gives access to your store. Paste it only into Homla, never into a chat or an email.
- Paste them into HomlaIn Homla, open Connectors, then Shopify, then Connect an account. Name the account after your store, fill Shop domain with the value below, paste the Client ID and the Client secret, leave the access token empty, and click Add account. Homla encrypts them and never shows them again. Open it.
What your AI can do#
These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.

Looks things up, never changes anything.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
shopify_product_get | Fetch a Shopify product with variants, images and metafields summary. |

shopify_theme_asset_get | Read a theme asset (section, snippet, template, JSON). |
shopify_collection_products | List products in a collection by handle. |
Write#
Creates or changes things, as the account owner.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
shopify_theme_asset_put | Create or update a theme asset. |
shopify_graphql | Run any Shopify Admin GraphQL query or mutation (API 2026-07). |
shopify_rest | REST escape hatch for the Shopify Admin API (2026-07). |
Disconnect it#
In Homla, open the account menu on the tool's page and choose Disconnect. Anyone it was shared with loses access at once. To cut it off on the tool's side too:
To cut Homla off at once, uninstall the Homla app from your store's apps list: every token stops working. To rotate instead, rotate the Client secret in the app's Settings in the Dev Dashboard, then paste the new secret into the same Homla form.
