Connect it#
In Homla, open Connectors, then Todoist. The Setup guide button walks you through the same steps, with fields to paste into.
Who can do it. Each person connects their own Todoist account (free or paid). Homla then sees exactly what that account sees: its own projects plus the projects shared with it.
- Open Todoist in Homla and click ConnectIn Homla, open Connectors, then Todoist, then Connect my Todoist account. Todoist opens in a new window. Open it.
- Sign in to the right Todoist accountIf you are already signed in to Todoist in this browser, check it is the account that holds your projects. Otherwise sign in (email, Google or Apple).
- Click Agree on Todoist's consent screenTodoist lists what Homla may do as you (see the permissions below). Click Agree; you land back in Homla, connected. What each person can actually do is set in Homla: a read-only role only sees the read tools, and every write asks for confirmation first.
Homla acts with your full Todoist rights: through todoist_request it can delete a task or a project. Read the confirmation before approving any write.
- Check it worksAsk your assistant "list my Todoist projects" (todoist_projects_list), then "show the tasks due today".
- If something goes wrong"The Todoist OAuth app is not configured": the Homla server has no Todoist app yet; tell your Homla admin. "Reconnect Todoist": the access was revoked in Todoist, or the session expired; click Connect again. "Project not found": the project is not shared with the connected account; the error lists the projects it can see.
What your AI can do#
These are the actions Homla gives your AI. Your role decides which ones you get. Write actions are a dry run until confirmed, see Approvals and dry runs.
Read#
Looks things up, never changes anything.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
todoist_projects_list | List Todoist projects (with parent_id for nesting) and, by default, each project's sections. |
todoist_tasks_list | List tasks by project/section/parent/label, or a Todoist filter ('today | overdue', '@client'). |
todoist_task_get | Get one task with its subtask tree (all levels) and its comments. |
Write#
Creates or changes things, as the account owner.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
todoist_task_create | Create a task (default Inbox) with labels, due, deadline, priority. |
todoist_task_update | Edit a task: fields, labels (set/add/remove), move (project, section, parent), complete or reopen. |
todoist_comment_add | Add a comment (Markdown) to a task, or to a project when project is given instead. |
Disconnect it#
In Homla, open the account menu on the tool's page and choose Disconnect. Anyone it was shared with loses access at once. To cut it off on the tool's side too:
To cut Homla off, open Todoist Settings, Integrations, Connected, and remove Homla. Or click Disconnect on the Todoist page in Homla.
